Van B. Nguyen is an award-winning queer Texas-native, Vietnamese-American writer/director who built a career in production as an assistant director before making the leap as a working writer. Growing up on a steady diet of things she probably shouldn't have watched, she knew from an early age that storytelling was her jam. She has been a fellow for the WeForShe 2019 WriteHer List as well as 2020's Film Independent Episodic Lab and 2021’s Film Independent Project Involve. With several short films under her belt, she wrote an action feature film titled Blackout starring Josh Duhamel, Abbie Cornish, and Nick Nolte that was released in 2022 on Netflix. Most recently, Van served as a writer for three seasons on CBS’s Blue Bloods. Van continues to develop film and TV projects, exploring characters and perspectives we rarely get to see on screen. Her experience and knowledge on set, paired with her passion for storytelling, make her a valuable asset.
